Modular design makes AUC’s package plants flexible, scalable, mobile, and versatile in diverse applications

Package wastewater treatment plants offer a versatile solution for various applications, especially in situations where traditional plants are impractical or temporary needs arise. Whether for temporary worker camps, remote locations, or disaster relief, package plants provide a flexible and efficient alternative.

AUC Group’s package plants deliver wastewater treatment quickly with cost-efficient scalability and flexibility of modular design, but without the need to sacrifice the durability and high effluent quality offered by a traditional plant. The customized modular units that make up the package plant offer a small footprint, mobility, simplified logistics, and a less-involved installation process with little civil engineering required.

Package plants can be rolled in quickly to serve on a temporary basis, but they’re built to be every bit as durable as their concrete cousins, making them versatile options in a wide range of applications, including:

Municipal Applications

Developers, builders, and community officials often find that package plants offer unique advantages. When communities are growing and need more capacity, package plants can seamlessly augment existing capacity. Where an existing plant must be taken offline for repairs or upgrades, package plants make ideal bypass plants to serve on limited timelines, such as our project at a D.R. Horton master-planned community in Hunt County.

AUC can commission package plants where no infrastructure is yet present. When regional utilities are unable to extend service to new developments or master-planned communities during periods of real estate growth, package plants provide a fast-to-install solution, utilizing technologies that can accelerate the permitting process. Where capital access or cash flow is a barrier, package plants can be delivered under the same Lease Plant Programor build-own-operate (BOO) arrangements as our other options, jump-starting stalled projects or allowing new projects to quickly go from planning to reality.

Commercial Applications

A wide range of facilities such as warehouses and manufacturers have turned to package plants for reliable service and high-quality commercial wastewater treatment and wastewater reuse. Office buildings and business parks can treat their wastewater on-site, breaking free from public plants and their high bills.

Additionally, AUC’s package plants have the option of reuse in nonpotable applications, such as industrial processes, boiler makeup, blowdown, topping up water features or fountains, landscape or lawn irrigation, toilet flushing, dust reduction, pressure washing, and an endless list of water-saving opportunities.

Package Plants for Remote Locations

Remote locations that need wastewater treatment include rural areas, construction sites, disaster relief areas, and more, which may be located where traditional construction can be challenging. Package plants can be a viable solution in areas with difficult terrain or limited sewer systems.

Package plants minimize disruption in sensitive ecosystems or tight urban quarters and require less skilled labor to establish. They scale easily by adding phases, like AUC’s installation at a planned community in Harris County. They can also be used to adapt to varying flow rates that may come with seasonal changes at tourist destinations, campuses, and sports facilities with AUC’s innovative Phase 0 strategy, in which valves reduce the capacity of the plant to enhance flow, minimizing pump-and-haul costs. And, if plants are no longer needed, they can be removed as quickly as they commission.

Customization and Efficiency in Every Package

Modular design makes package plants a flexible, scalable wastewater treatment option through prefabricated units custom-fit to each site’s unique requirement. Whether for municipal treatment or commercial facilities, they offer excellent compliance and an opportunity to join the circular economy with the option of water-saving reuse systems. We have honed our expertise as a provider of custom-designed solutions since 1970 throughout Texas, so contact AUC to explore the surprising advantages that roll in with our modular package plants.
