Join the Cause: World Water Day 2022

By March 22, 2022News

World Water Day is reserved for March 22nd every year as a dedication to the world’s most precious resource – water. World Water Day was established to raise awareness of the 2 billion people living without access to safe water. Each year the theme changes, but they all share the core focus to support United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6:  Water and sanitation for all by 2030.

The 2022 theme focuses on “Groundwater:  making the invisible visible”. Almost all liquid freshwater in the world is groundwater, supporting drinking water supplies, sanitation systems, farming, industry, and ecosystems. Although it cannot be seen, groundwater makes an impact everywhere and will play a critical role in adapting to climate change. We must explore, protect, and sustainably use this resource to meet the needs of growing populations.

Did you know?

AUC Group has expanded our leasing services to include the installation of Water Plants – extracting groundwater to supply drinking water to decentralized communities. Complimentary to our wastewater treatment service, this new “Widen Service Offering” further promotes the ability to decentralize and tap into underutilized water resources available beneath our feet.

Our Commitment

On #WorldWaterDay2022, Seven Seas Water Group in the British Virgin Islands will open its doors to students in Grade 12 from the Virgin Islands School of Technical Studies (VISTS). This exclusive tour will help students understand how our water is produced for consumption and hopefully spark interest in this critical industry. We continue to be proud of the commitment of our staff in the BVI and the ways they continue to provide safe, reliable water to BVI residents. We are fully invested in the success of the BVI community and its future.
